The Bajna Mansion is awaiting its visitors with an appearance worthy of the magnificent achievement of Hungarian classicist architecture, revived internally and externally in 2021, after an award-winning renovation. The former residence of the Devil’s Horseman had to be re-erected virtually from the ruins.
The Mansion's past is brought to life on two floors, which includes not only the history of construction but also the period of destruction portrayed in animated films, photographs, artefacts and interactive games. Besides that visitors can learn more about Móric Sándor and his daughter, Pauline Metternich-Sándor.
In this beautiful project we took responsibility for the interface design of the interactive parts and games of the exhibition.
During the process our biggest challenge was to design a visual system which reflects to the architectural style of the building but easy-to-use intuitively to any visitor, regardless of generation. The result is a mixture of modern and classical styled elements where the interactive and functional parts got a minimal shape, but the ornaments of the UI is inspired by the beautiful little details of the furnitures, handles and frescos.
